Baltic Gas Exchange Trading Report for November 2018 Has Been Announced
Natural gas prices changed trajectory and moved downwards. After the rise of natural gas prices for nine month in the row Baltic Gas Exchange GET Baltic captures price fall in November 2018. As the price trajectory moved down, natural gas exchange participants concluded 206 transactions, traded volumes amounted to 30 GWh of natural gas. Comparing traded volumes year on year a 50% increase was recorded, while month on month downward trend was captured. The greatest impact on traded volumes was due to decreases in Lithuanian market area, however 7 times increased sell volumes in Latvian market area kept overall volumes at similar level, total monthly volume decreased only by 8% (October 2018 – 33 GWh). During November 2018 orders were submitted and transactions concluded by 13 participants (October 2018 – 16).
Baltic Gas Spot Index (BGSI) which captures changes of natural gas prices in the Baltics, value in November 2018 was 26.73 EUR/MWh and compared to October 2018 (28.49 EUR/MWh) decreased by 6%. Exchange participants concluded transactions in Lithuanian market area paid the weighted average price of 26.88 EUR/MWh (↓6%), in Latvian market area – 26.28 EUR/MWh (↓6%), Estonian market area – 26.57 EUR/MWh (↓5%).
