UAB GET Baltic informs that today at 10.00 AM the first trading session of the Natural Gas Exchange officially has been opened. The participants of gas market which have concluded the exchange participant’s agreement now can trade in natural gas on the exchange. “At the moment we have concluded 4 agreements. Also we have already got several requests of other companies’ for granting the status of the Natural Gas Exchange Participant, according to them in the the near future the agreements will be signed. At the moment the meetings with the biggest natural gas market participants have been held. Other potential participants of the exchange are informed about the possibility and the conditions of participating in the exchange as well. We think that the first deals will be fulfilled soon.

As it is known, one of the factors influencing consumption of natural gas the most, is the temperature of air. At the moment it is not so stable, that is why it is not so easy to foresee the demand of gas for the gas consumers. We think that this new tool for trading in natural gas will help to solve this situation and risk.” – said CEO of UAB GET Baltic Haroldas Nausėda.

According to the Regulations of the Natural Gas Exchange of UAB GET Baltic, the trading sessions will last from 10.00 AM to 14.00 PM. The trading will be held only on working days so far, but in the Regulations there is foreseen that while informing about this participants of the exchange in advance, the trading sessions could be held on days off.
