In the light of significant regulatory changes, including amendments to the REMIT Regulation and remaining regulatory uncertainty from the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) regarding the Implementing Regulation, as well as planned increased fees and expanded requirements for Registered Reporting Mechanisms (RRMs), GET Baltic reassessed the possibility of continuing its REMIT reporting services. As a result, GET Baltic will discontinue REMIT reporting services for bilateral contracts and LNG facilities reporting as of December 29, 2025.

“REMIT regulatory changes are becoming increasingly tangible – implementing regulation has not yet been officially adopted, final list of new requirements is not known, however part of them is already clear. The new requirements that are already known will shift a significant part of the responsibility to service providers, which means substantial investments in technical solutions, as well as increased accountability for data accuracy and client support. It is already clear that the proposed changes will require significant resources. Equally important is the fact that, in the absence of a final list of requirements, these investments may turn out to be even greater, including additional needs of human resources for the company. Therefore, we have made the decision to discontinue the provision of REMIT reporting services as of 2026.

To recognize the trust our clients placed in us, we are announcing this decision in advance – almost five months before the service is discontinued – to ensure everyone has sufficient time to prepare for the changes. We are ready to assist during this transition period and facilitate a shift to alternative solutions”, – says Giedrė Kurmė, CEO of GET Baltic.

Clients currently using these services are advised to make arrangements with alternative service providers to ensure uninterrupted compliance with REMIT reporting obligations.

Clients will be able to submit REMIT reports via the GET Baltic REMIT platform until December 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM EET. The reporting functionality will be terminated thereafter. To support smooth transition and ensure access to historical data, the platform will remain available in archive mode until January 30, 2026, 4:00 PM EET.

REMIT (Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency) is a regulation by the European Parliament and Council aimed at supporting open and fair competition in the European wholesale energy markets. The regulation was updated in 2024, and additional amendments to the Implementing regulation are planned to be published this year.
